I am 38 years and have been diagonosed with compensated hypothyroidism.
I was prescibed Eltroxin which I take daily.
I also have to do the following :
1.I can't take steroid based medication.
2.I can't take cold medication.
3.I increased the Fish content in my diet.
4.I swim 3 times a week.
5.I walk 2 times a week.
6.I don't eat fast foods more than 1 per week.
7.I reduced the Sodium Chloride in my diet.
8.I reduce the amount of anti-inflammatory drugs I was taking (Motrin for pain).
9.I have stopped eating Kale.
10.I take a diuertic every 2 days.

I had a number of ailments associated with my Thyroid problem
1.Fibromyglia
2.Poly cystic ovary syndrome
3.Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
4.Idiopathic Odema (unexplained water retension)
5.Hypertension
6.Depression
7.Tiredness

Most of these are either gone or under control.
After about 18 months on the medication I suddenly lost 24 lbs in 4 months.
This disease requires a lot of patience.
If I miss my Eltroxin for 2-3 days all of my joints ache.
There is hope but it require patience.
All of you please take care there is hope.
